Easter Party #2 at school ... Jonathan's 3rd grade class had an Easter Egg Hunt on the school playground ... but with a twist!  They each had an egg with a number on it, and had to find two corresponding eggs with a math problem that gave the answer they had. :o)  (3/26/10)

#82 - Readin'

This afternoon, the boys each spend time with me and a book - Jonathan filling out the "Do-It-Yourself" Wimpy Kid Book, and Matthew reading from the LarryBoy chapter book.  I'm so glad that they have a love of reading!!  (03/23/10)

#81 - A Little Decorating

I keep saying I want to do more decorating around the various holidays, but haven't quite gotten going on that ... except for these eggs on my dining room table.  Just read a children's story that uses the Easter Egg to remind us of the stone that rolled away from Jesus' tomb to show he wasn't there anymore.  (03/22/10)

#77 - All Tucked In and Ready for Bed!

Tonight when Matthew was getting ready for bed, he insisted on lining up all his stuffed animals in a specific order on the bed, and tucked them in with covers because "they might get cold."   A little bit later, he came out of his room to inform his daddy that daddy needed to leave the animals tucked in because they sleep during the day AND the night. :)  (03/18/10)   

#76 - Thy Word ...

This bible belongs to a lady in our church - it was her mother's.  I pray that my Bible will be this well-used someday ... it may be torn and taped together, but it is evidence of a love of God and a love for God's Word.  03/17/10

#75 - Slippin' Slidin' Silly Sally ...

Matthew and I were outside and he was riding his bicycle when I heard a strange sound ... I looked up from my book to see Sally, the stray that has "adopted" us, trying to go UP the slide! :o)  Too cute!  I didn't have my camera, so I grabbed a few snapshots with my cell phone.  3/16/10

Our boys love their legos, and I love that they use their imagination to create new and different "creations" from the pieces parts of their various sets.  These are a few of Jonathan's recent creations.

#72 - An old game with a modern twist ...

The boys wanted to play Monopoly this morning - and I think the game we have is the one that may have been mine when I was a little girl.  But it was "updated" by my boys ... Jonathan used a "Koopa Troopa" figurine from the Mario video games as his token!

#71 - Fun day with the boys ...

They were out of school for the day due to a teacher's meeting, so we had lunch together, ran some errands and then played at the park for a while.  (The only dark cloud in the day was when I locked us out of our Suburban.  But God is good, and answered prayers - I found a spare key at the house that I didn't know we had. :o) 03/12/10

#70 - Book Fair!

My boys have inherited the love of reading from both my side of the family and Tony's ... so they were thrilled that it was the week for the Scholastic Elementary Book Fair at school!  And I am thankful that I am able to be a full-time mom so that I can help out at these events.  It reminds me of the years I spent at Barnes & Noble as a Community Relations Manager.  03/11/10

I teach the Wednesday night class at church for the kindergarten - second grade kiddos.  It's great to see them playing games and LEARNING things about the Bible!  03/10/10

Found these beautiful jonquils blooming in town the other day.  One of my favorite flowers because it was the official flower for my service sorority, Epsilon Sigma Alpha, and brings back lots of good memories! 03/08/10

#64 - Pancake Breakfast

This morning our school hosted a pancake breakfast fundraiser for Mr. Larry, one of our school's custodians who has been in the hospital and is facing some serious health problems.  One of the great things about being in a small town and at a small school is seeing everyone come together to support one of our school family ... the breakfast raised about $2,800!  Woo-hoo!!!!

#63 - Commemoration

Today, the mail carrier brought a special treat that I had ordered on ebay ... a charm for my italian charm bracelet to commemorate my walking/exercising/athletic endeavors, particularly the 13.1-mile half marathon I completed in San Diego this January.  I've never considered myself an athlete, but it looks like I'm moving a bit in that direction.

#62 - Happy Birthday to a sweet nephew!

Today I got to go to Slidell to meet my sister and my adorable nephew to help celebrate his 3rd birthday!  We started with a portrait session at Sears, then met Grammie and my brother-in-law for a pizza lunch ... and the ladies at the restaurant brought out a special cake just for James!  Happy Birthday, little man! 03/03/2010
