#59 - Majestic

We were driving home from Covington on Saturday, and Tony decided to take a back way ... we saw this neat tree, and I made him turn around to let me take some pictures! 02/28/10

#58 - That's my boy!

Like mother, like son ...  02/27/10

#57 - Memories

Some might say it's a hobby, others might call it an addiction or obsession ... but I call it memories.  Not much warms my heart more than seeing my boys pull a scrapbook off the shelf and make themselves comfortable looking through an alum of memories.  Often I'll hear them exclaim, "Hey, Mommy!  Remember when ... "

That's me!  02/24/10

#54 - Happy Pancake Day!

Saw this sight in Covington on Tuesday - apparently it was "Free Pancake Day" at IHOP! 02/23/10

#53 - Home Tweet Home

This morning, I walked at the boys' school, and saw this nest along the way ... I think it belonged to a robin, but couldn't find any eggs as far as I could see, which entailed pulling the car up next to the tree and climbing on the roof ... Those who know me would understand I was just trying to get a picture ... others might think I've lost my marbles (which is entirely possible as well!) 02/22/10

#51 - Belated Valentine's Dinner

Due to winter weather conditions, our church Valentine's banquet had to be rescheduled ... tonight we got to enjoy a delicious meal served by our wonderful church youth while someone took care of our kiddos.  2/20/10

#50 - A Good Read ...

I've enjoyed reading books by Janette Oke, and was excited to find this new one at the library last week.  It's set in the time just after Jesus was crucified, and brings it to life so well!  I'm about to start on its sequel.  The only down side is that when I read at bedtime, I have a hard time putting the book down, so I don't get to sleep as early as I need to. :) 2/19/10

#48 - The Krewe of Mother Goose

Happy Mardi Gras from the BGS Pre-K and Kindergarten!!!  02/17/10

#47 - Gifts from God

#46 - Housewarming

Since I was going a little stir crazy after a week of one or both kids home sick, then me being sick, Tony being sick, a snow day, and then two days off for Mardi Gras, I decided to take the boys out to visit and go shopping a bit. (Tony stayed home to work on Bible Study for Tuesday morning)  My dad and stepmom have bought a new house in Covington, so one of our first stops was to go by and see their new abode. :o)  We were trying to get a photo with their dog Bear as well, but he wasn't cooperating (the best we got was the fur in the lower left corner! :)

#44 - Artistry In Ice

This morning, the boys and I took a walk around the house and church, and found lots of puddles that had frozen overnight, and created very cool patterns in the ice ...

#43 - Let it snow ...

We didn't get anywhere near the 3-5 or more inches of snow on Friday, but the boys were out of school, and loved watching the flakes come down.  They got a bit of time to play in the snow, but there wasn't a whole lot to play with ... this was the view out of our window ...

#42 - Silly boys

Waiting patiently while Mommy waits in line to get a prescription refilled is NOT at the top of my boys' "fun things to do" list ... so they found something to occupy themselves ... trying on a variety of the reading glasses near the pharmacy window, and walking towards me, saying, "they're blurry!" (2/11/10)

#41 - Friends?

We have a big field behind our house, and the company of a herd of cows ... being the not-country girl that I am, I tend to think they're cute ... especially when I saw these two snuggled up together on a cold day ... (2/10/10)

#40 - Tim Tam Slammin'

Aussie and Canadian friends from HP/PAI (Hannah's Prayer/Parenting After Infertility) introduced the rest of us to Tim Tam cookies ... some of the best cookies ever (even better than Girl Scout Cookies!!!).  We've also learned about the Tim Tam Slam, where you bite of opposite corners of the cookie, then sip coffee through it like a straw until the cookie becomes soggy, and then you "slam" the rest of the cookie in your mouth - yummy!!!!  On this day, I showed the family how to do a Slam, and Matthew wanted to try as well ... although he ended up not eating the soggy cookie. (2/9/10)

#39 - Truly a Moment to Remember

My favorite moment of the Saints Super Bowl Victory ... watching Saints quarterback Drew Brees sharing the moment with his son, and trying to hold back the tears of joy.  (2/8/10)

#38 - Geaux Saints!

It's Super Bowl Sunday, and it seems like the whole state of Louisiana (and beyond) has been infected with Black & Gold fever!!!! :)

#37 - Breakfast with my boy!

#36 - Black & Gold Day

An official proclamation in Washington Parish declaring Friday, Feb. 5th "Black and Gold Day" in honor of the New Orleans Saints' trip to the Super Bowl.  Every where you looked, people were sporting black and gold and fleur de lis ... on their shirts, their jewelry, their purses, cars ... everywhere!  Along Main Street, the Junior High School erected a bunch of signs, including this one:

#35 - Clay Creations

Every week or so, I go to my son's 3rd grade class to do art and craft projects with them.  Since we usually do projects with paper and drawing utensils, I decided to do something different this week, and brought lots of playdoh for the kids to sculpt with.  They had a blast making a variety of creations and then trying to figure out what each other had created! #34 - A Visit to the Doctor

My day began at 5:17 a.m. with my youngest son coming into the bedroom complaining of ear pain ... a trip to the pediatrician confirmed my suspicion of an ear infection.  (We've got the best pediatrician!)

#32 - A Vacation to Remember

The Creative Memories Digital StoryBook I created of our May 2009 vacation to the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee arrived Monday, Feb. 1st ... and it made a great "bedtime story" for the boys.  I'm thrilled with the finished result, and can't wait to do another one!
